Almost as soon as we found out we were expecting, nursery design ideas started whirling around in my head. Because really, what could be more fun than designing a baby’s room.

I have this empty and slightly awkward narrow-but-tall stretch of wall next to the sofa, above the side table. In an ideal world I would have had it wired for a wall light when we renovated the ground floor, but as is often the case, our plans evolved as the renovation went along and it wasn’t until we finished I realised it was the perfect spot for a wall light.
